Braeden Etienne - Mostly Everything
Influences: Funny poets, deep comedians, alternative musicians, poets who front bands, comedians who lead countries, spiritual beings, mythical figures, those who do many things or straddle between two or more artistic expressions. Except in high school, I was all emo, all the time.
Sounds Like: After shows people usually say you sound like (insert artist I've never heard of). I'm always trying to sound like myself as much as I can, but I don't really truly know what that means. Whose self would I otherwise be sounding like?
I’m getting closer with every song. And in the end, I’ll find I was “me” all along.
Listens to: A lot of what the streaming algorithm tells me to - how fun! Thanks billion-dollar entities! I’ve been into Cheekface and RAYE of late. I also listen to a lot of science, comedy and mental health and spirituality podcasts. I’ll probably listen to the 10th anniversary recording of the Tragically Hip’s last concert this year.
Bio: Braeden Etienne (he/them) is a poet, comedian, musician and a lot of other things too. It depends who they’re talking to. Since they’re talking to you on this DemoPages site, they’ll say, they’ve been a musician for over two and a half decades but only recently have they recorded their tunes and put them into the world.
Their debut EP Believe In It was released on the Winter Solstice of 2024 and led to a magical mini local tour in 2025, where Braeden played this pagan punk rock poetry project at Hillside Festival, The Pinch Cabaret, the inaugural Treading Theatre Festival, Brant Pride, in a church for Jesus, and at Guelph Fringe Festival where Braeden won the Spirit of the Fringe award. The live version of this album, called Believe In It: Alive was released one year later on the Winter Solstice of 2025.
After the last high-production theatrical project, Braeden is stripping it back. They’re currently writing micro-folk songs in a project with the working title Micro-Folking. Will it turn into anything? Who knows - bits and pieces of it will live here for now!
Braeden is also in a musical improv group called After This. The group sings dumb songs on the spot to raise money for the Food Bank and so far have donated over 5,500 meals to the community in the last three years.

I did sound design and wrote my first theme song this year for a play called The Neighbours. The play won “Best New Work” at the Dora Awards (mostly for the writing, directing and acting, but I’ll take credit too).
